Martell Nigeria has unveiled the 2019 edition of its annual Martell Cypher series.
The Martell Cypher 2019 (also dubbed The L.A.M.B Cypher) features none other than Chocolate City‘s all-star rap roster – M.I. Abaga, Loose Kaynon, A-Q & Blaqbonez. All of whom came correct with their bars and flow.

As expected the cypher has already generated a lot of buzz online, as well as some controversy. Nigerian rapper Yung6ix has indirectly alleged that some of his lyrics were plagiarised by all four rappers featured in the cypher.
So someone sent me a video of four rappers recycling my lines and then tagged that shit a cypher. You’ll jokers ?

At this time, we cannot confirm which lines in particular Yung6ix is laying claim to, but we’re sure his fans would reveal that soon enough.
Regardless there seems to be a general appreciate for the rap talent showcased in the cypher. Could this be the resurrection of hip-hop in Nigeria?
